Kia ora, I'm Taiao.

 

Before tech I was a videographer and got to tell some really touching stories about my whanau in the north, which I'd like to think informs my approach to code and who it serves. I also worked in hospo for many years, tempered by loud customers and minimum wage.

 

I've worked in Ruby on Rails, which was really cool, and COBOL at a bank, which was less cool. Either way I've been forced to pick up new and odd stacks and run with them. Right now I'm looking for something modern, and somewhere I can have a say.

 

This portfolio site is a rewrite of a React based site I built after my studies, with youthful optimism, in 2023. When I'm not cutting code, I'll be hyper focusing on gym, an rpg, or a warhammer book.
